Second Annual Touch Tournament
 |
| The second annual touch tournament was
the first competitive event held at The Sports Club on the new playing
surface - and what a test it turned out to be! With torrential
downpours throughout the afternoon spirits remained high, the playing
surface intact and quality of play exceptional. |

| Teams from school, club, exiles and
combinations somewhere in between competed throughout the afternoon
with victory going for the second year to Rodgers & Co featuring
Greg Elliot, Phillip Green, Hugh Jones, Peter Taylor, Neil Hanna,
Rodgers himself and possibly a seventh whom I cant remember. |

Stars of the day included :
| young Phillip Green who managed to score
for three different teams. |
| Ross Ewart for his 'fifties' refereeing
outfit. |
| and Alan Atkinson for his debut as referee,
Quote, 'This was the first and only time -ever. Never again - no
f****** way. Stick it ..................etc ' |
